Fried Artichoke and Spinach Wontons

Directions

  1. In a frying pan, sauté the garlic and spinach until tender.
  2. Lightly drain artichokes and spinach in a colander, then finely chop.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the spinach & artichokes, green onions and cream cheese. Set aside.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees.
  5. Refrigerate slightly if desired for easier assembly. Otherwise, create the wontons in the shape of your choice. The simplest version is to form triangles by putting in about ½ teaspoon of the mixture, then folding in half, wetting the ends with a little water so they stick together.
  6. Bake the wontons for about 8-12 minutes, spraying them with a little oil, until golden brown to your liking. For even cooking, turn halfway through.
  7. Serve with sauce of your choice and enjoy!

Notes:

*For a vegan version, use dumpling paste instead.
**Want to make a homemade sauce? Mix ½ cup mayonnaise with 1 teaspoon Cajun spices, pepper to taste and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a slightly tangy, tart sauce!

These fried artichoke wontons will be your new favourite starter, although they can also be served as a meal with a side dish! What's more, they're quite simple to make, as they're cooked in an air fryer for a healthier version.
