Bruschetta Calabrese with Spicy Capers

Directions

1- Cut the Italian baguette into 1-inch thick slices. Brush one side of each slice with olive oil and toast under the broiler until the edges become golden brown and crispy.

2- Turn the toasted baguette slices over, placing a slice of fresh mozzarella and some grilled peppers on each slice.

3- Distribute the spicy capers over the mozzarella and peppers on each slice.

4- Lightly season the bruschetta with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.

5- Place the topped baguette slices back under the broiler for a minute until the mozzarella starts to melt slightly.

6- Remove the bruschetta from the oven, sprinkle minced fresh basil over each slice, and serve warm as a delightful appetizer or snack.
